Visit La Moneda Palace and Surroundings
Plaza de la Constitución is the forecourt of La Moneda Palace, located in Santiago’s so-called Civic District.
Around this square you’ll find some of the most important buildings and monuments linked to the executive branch of the Chilean State. La Moneda Palace is the seat of the Chilean Presidency. Its construction took place between 1784 and 1805, was designed by Italian architect Joaquín Toesca, and its original purpose was to be the Royal Mint, hence its current name.
