Enjoy fun experiences, a 4D theater and a trip to space. A perfect plan for the whole family!
If you’re looking for a fun outing for kids and family, the MUI is the place for you. It’s a museum that complements children’s and young people’s education with an entertaining, experiential and participatory approach, allowing both kids and adults to experience history, science and culture, and even travel through space and time via 3D audiovisual productions.
A bit of history…
The new Museo Interactivo de Las Condes is located in the former Casona Barros, one of the last original houses in the El Golf neighborhood. Built by architect Carlos Cruz Eyzaguirre between 1943 and 1945, it was home to the Barros Subercaseaux family until the 1970s, when it was acquired by the Municipality of Las Condes. During the 1980s and 1990s it housed the Local Police Courts and the Civil Registry. In 2012, the Municipality decided to dedicate this space to a new cultural project, renovating its architecture and restoring the original facade and gardens of the house, giving rise to the Interactive Museum.
What to see at the MUI?
If you’re at the Museum, don’t miss the 4D cinema room, an experience that engages all your senses by simulating a journey aboard a spaceship to explore the Solar System. All the activities make use of different technological, audiovisual and interactive resources designed to entertain, excite, guide and enrich the experience of the children and families who visit the site.
